Connor's family don't understand him -- perhaps, as he races back through time on a quest to save everything which matters to him -- his ancestors will.
Time Keepers is my middle grade fantasy novel.
13 year-old Connor Forsyth discovers he is a Time Keeper, the descendant of an ancient order of wizards who are able to control time.
Discovering that his life -- and everything around him -- is in danger from Major Weir, an evil necromancer, Connor finds himself flung back into the past in a quest to save the world.
Not only is the Edinburgh of the past very different -- so too are his ancestors, whose help he needs in order to defeat Weir...and to get back home.
Time Keepers is the kind of book I always wanted to read as child. It is an attempt to mix fantasy and adventure with a tangible -- but obviously not overly academic -- sense of history.
Its themes are of belonging and identity -- of a boy who discovers who he really is and what he is truly capable of: a coming of age through the ages, if you like.
I am currently editing Time Keepers with a view to submitting it to agents and publishers soon.
